The birth and development of the GEDIS system demonstrate China's strategic determination and forward-looking layout in the field of digital rule innovation. Currently, this system has been successfully deployed and put into operation in cross-border physical scenarios, marking a substantive breakthrough in China's construction of an independent and controllable global digital collaboration infrastructure.

Forged Over Eight Years: An Innovative Journey from Strategic Concept to System Implementation

The birth and development of the GEDIS system showcase China's strategic determination and forward-looking layout in digital rule innovation. Since research began in 2017, after eight years of continuous exploration and technological breakthroughs, it has now entered a comprehensive platform implementation phase. The system's pioneering "dual-center dumbbell" architectural model, which innovatively solves the challenge of balancing data sovereignty with global circulation, has passed authoritative evaluation organized by the China International Association for Promotion of Science and Technology. Certified by a panel of academicians including Zhang Ping and Zhang Hongke, it has been recognized as "overall internationally advanced, with dual-model design leading internationally."

The underlying theory supporting system operation, the "Law of Digital-Energy Conversion," won the Gold Medal at the Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions, gaining international theoretical recognition. Currently, the project has established a complete intellectual property system around its core systems, including 10 software copyrights such as the "Sino-Mongolian Livestock Industry Digital Trade Settlement Service System," and core invention patents like the "Digital Distribution Method." This is forming a replicable and scalable cross-border digital trade standard system.

Ecosystem Construction: Simultaneous Advancement of Core System Launch and Application Development

Currently, the GEDIS system has completed the critical leap from rule design to platform operation, entering an acceleration phase of ecological construction.

On one hand, the domestic trusted infrastructure has been consolidated and put into operation. The Yan'an Service Trade Trusted Data Space, serving as the global DID certification center, has completed development of its DID main system version 1.0, now online for testing, providing core identity authentication services for cross-border collaboration. China Mobile provides stable high-performance computing power and judicial-grade evidence storage support.

On the other hand, overseas production platforms and system construction are advancing efficiently. The core server room for the GEDIS CID production center at the Livestock Technology Industry Ecological Park in Dornogovi Province, Mongolia, has been deployed. Concurrently, a customized ERP system deeply integrated with production management has entered substantive construction, aiming to achieve real-time, precise conversion of physical assets into digital property rights. Building on this foundation, the GEDIS "Huayuan Huitong" consortium blockchain has officially launched, marking the initial operation of a trusted collaborative network connecting Chinese and Mongolian nodes.

Core Mechanisms: Three Pillars Reshaping the Cross-border Collaboration Paradigm

The GEDIS system provides a new technological governance framework for global digital collaboration through three major pillar innovations:

The DID (Decentralized Identifier) system grants each participating entity a globally recognized, verifiable digital identity, achieving separation of legal identity from commercial collaboration identity, fundamentally reducing the cost of establishing cross-border trust.

The CID (Content Identifier) system, through production management systems deployed in the industrial park, converts physical assets such as pastures, livestock herds, and equipment into precisely measurable, traceable, and tradable digital rights units. The park, functioning as a CID production center, enables the continuous output of physical assets transformed into digital production factors.

Leveraging the programmability of Digital RMB, a real-time distribution network driven by smart contracts has been constructed. Value distribution is automatically executed based on verifiable on-chain contributions, ultimately achieving standardized circulation of digital rights through G-TRAC (Global Tradable Real-Asset Certificate) anchor warrants.

Practical Validation: The Digital Leap of Industrial Value and Inclusive Mutual Benefit

In the Sino-Mongolian Livestock Industry Digital Collaboration Demonstration Park, the value of GEDIS rules has been fully validated. Using the initial 3-square-kilometer deep processing zone as a carrier, the project systematically injects China's mature digital capabilities, including industrial data models and production management standards, achieving breakthrough results:

Revolutionary Increase in Industrial Value-Added Space: The park's overall industrial value-added space has increased from approximately 20% under traditional models to 94%. This leap is not merely technological transformation but the result of systematically optimizing total factor productivity through the "innovative allocation" of production factors under GEDIS rules, vividly embodying the connotations of "high technology, high efficiency, high quality" new quality productive forces.

Deep Reshaping of Cross-border Industrial Chains: The project is expected to drive China's systematic export of technology and production capacity valued at 9 billion RMB, promoting the digital transformation of over 50 domestic enterprises and forming a cross-border service cluster, while guiding nearly 200,000 Mongolian herders towards standardized, traceable modern production.

Transformation of Value Creation and Distribution Models: Chinese partners have shifted from merely earning single trade margins to long-term operation of digital assets based on G-TRAC anchor warrants through continuous technology, data, and management services. Model calculations show that Chinese partners can obtain approximately 13.5 billion RMB in sustainable annual revenue through this model, forming the first batch of globally investable digital assets priced in Renminbi, achieving a fundamental leap from "commodity export" to "digital asset operation."

Significance for the Era: Providing a Chinese Solution for Global Digital Economy Development

The successful practice of the GEDIS system transcends the scope of a single project.

It provides a cross-border paradigm for cultivating new quality productive forces, systematically answering how to achieve "innovative allocation of production factors" globally in the digital era. It constructs foundational rules for the next generation of global digital trade, providing an independent and controllable rule basis for China's participation in and leadership of changes in the global digital governance system. It opens new digital scenarios for RMB internationalization, creating a credible path for Digital RMB, as an endogenous distribution tool, to play a larger international role through large-scale cross-border application. It contributes governance wisdom for inclusive development; its ecological philosophy of "rules neutrality, value sharing" offers a Chinese approach to building a fairer and more secure environment for global digital economy development.

Future Outlook: From Successful Practice to Global Network

Currently, the GEDIS system has completed the full-chain validation of "theory—rules—platform—ecology." Its modular and adaptable design gives it the potential for rapid replication and promotion across a wide range of fields along the "Belt and Road," including agriculture, energy, and green manufacturing.

Looking ahead, efforts should focus on: Standard System Construction, accelerating core rules to become national standards and contributing to international standards; Demonstration Network Expansion, creating more benchmark projects along the "Digital Silk Road"; and Deepening Industry-Finance Innovation, developing financial products based on digital rights like G-TRAC to build a "industry-finance" digital dual circulation.

The practice of the GEDIS system demonstrates that China, with innovative digital rules and an open cooperative attitude, is promoting global industrial collaboration towards a new stage based on trusted data and aimed at value sharing. This is not merely the application of technology but a profound change in development concepts and collaboration paradigms, injecting new certainty into the inclusive growth of the global digital economy.
