Yan'an Digital Trade Center Hosts Guangdong Academic Delegation on GEDIS Implementation

2026-08-25

On August 24, a delegation of five led by Associate Professor Ruan Chuanyang, Head of the Department of Digital Economy at Guangdong University of Finance and Economics, visited Xi'an Huayuan Group, the Yan'an Digital Trade Cross‑Border Service Center, and the GEDIS Trusted Space Operations Center. The research visit aimed to gain a comprehensive understanding of the construction and practical outcomes of the GEDIS system from three dimensions: rule development, technical operations, and industrial application. Deputy Director Liu Yun of the New Area Management Committee and Director Sun Yu of the Investment Promotion Bureau attended the symposium. Deputy Director Liu Yun stated that the provincial and municipal governments attach great importance to GEDIS, not only for its landing in Yan'an but also for its expansion and growth, and fully affirmed the collaborative efforts of all parties.

As the developer and promoter of the GEDIS cross‑border digital trade rule system, the Center presented the core concepts of GEDIS to the delegation: a blockchain‑based decentralized digital asset circulation framework. Its "dual‑center dumbbell" architecture model—which establishes a trusted data node at each trading side, forming a closed‑loop system for peer‑to‑peer data interaction and balanced value flow—has been recognized by Academicians Zhang Ping and Zhang Hongke as “internationally advanced in overall technology and internationally leading in practical modeling.” Yan'an Huayuan Zhongchuang Technology Co., Ltd., as the operator and technical maintainer of the GEDIS cross‑border trusted data space, leverages the Yan'an Cross‑border Trusted Data Platform and has collaborated with the Center to build the GEDIS Global Value‑Added Service Network, transforming enterprise quality control standards and management expertise into standardized service modules. Xi'an Huayuan Group, as the implementer of the Mongolian park application system, had its Chairman Li Dong present on‑site explanations of the trusted data space infrastructure, the GEDIS network value‑added system, and G‑TRAC digital asset practices, comprehensively showcasing front‑line exploratory achievements.

In cross‑border settlement, the GEDIS two‑level mechanism has been progressively verified and refined through Xi'an Huayuan Group's practices in the Mongolian park: at the first level, raw materials and production costs are settled in each party's local currency to secure basic returns; at the second level, settlement is anchored to the country‑specific ownership ratio of G‑TRAC warrants, automatically distributing sales‑generated value‑added proceeds in the corresponding local currencies, thereby ensuring that each participant's contribution matches its entitled returns. As a RMB‑denominated offshore rights certificate verified by computational power and recorded on‑chain, G‑TRAC effectively reduces exchange rate risks and shortens settlement cycles. Currently, the relevant mechanisms of the China‑Mongolia demonstration park are in the verification and advancement stage. Based on calculations using China's industrial data models, approximately 80% of rigid costs in traditional industrial economies are converted into verifiable digital assets through the GEDIS mechanism, thereby increasing the overall value‑added potential of the Mongolian park to 94%. Approximately RMB 9 billion of China's production capacity is expected to be channeled through settlement ports into Mongolia's factors of production allocation and digital metering assets, opening a pathway for nearly 200,000 local herders to participate in the international division of labor and income distribution. These outcomes preliminarily confirm the application capability and model feasibility of Xi'an Huayuan Group as the on‑ground implementation party.

The research delegation highly commended GEDIS for streamlining the entire process from production rights confirmation to financial settlement, achieving an upgrade from traditional trade to cross‑border circulation of digital assets. The delegation noted that GEDIS provides a complete paradigm for university‑level digital economy education, bridging theory and practice, and will offer significant support for curriculum development and case study creation. Both parties expressed that the Center will continue to leverage its platform advantages in rule‑making and promotion, working hand in hand with Yan'an Huayuan Zhongchuang Technology and Xi'an Huayuan Group to deepen industry‑university‑research collaboration and jointly advance digital trade talent development and rule innovation. This research visit further consolidates Yan'an's position as the birthplace and application hub of GEDIS rules, and the Center will persistently empower its ecosystem partners, writing a new chapter of the “Yan'an Rules.”
